Laura Marling’s project “Experiments in Awkwardness” began at Glastonbury in June 2011 and is built around a simple concept: Take two strangers, put them in a room and play them one song for a very short, very exclusive concert. No frills; no cameras, microphones or accompaniment.
Laura wanted to take this idea to Camp Bestival, Wilderness, Green Man and End of the Road festivals and I was asked to produce the experience, from creating an intimate venue in a secluded environment, away from the hustle and bustle of the festivals, to leading the strangers away from their friends to join someone they had never met for an intimate show.
